mateja drev (1996) is a slovenian visual artist and researcher, currently based in barcelona. in her practice, she explores the digital body and the posthuman interaction between biological and technological processes. her artistic research is largely influenced by her academic background in the field of psychology and human-computer interaction. often in collaboration with musicians and sound artists, she intertwines research, digital media, and tactility to shape atmospheres in which the visual elements oscillate between the two extremes of abstraction and corporeality. mateja holds a degree in fine art from willem de kooning academy in rotterdam. her work has been presented at tent rotterdam, pictura dordrecht, november music and other festivals and exhibitions in the netherlands and abroad. she is currently researching interpersonal synchrony at the full-body interaction lab at pompeu fabra university in barcelona.
